Empowerment Yoga for Teenagers

This non-competitive, mindfulness-based yoga class is designed especially for teenagers. They will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve concentration, and help them understand how to identify and manage their feelings. Yoga invites them to explore self awareness; through self-awareness comes empowerment. Each class ends with a whimsical meditation and Shavasana (deep relaxation).

Yoga promotes teenagers’ connections to their bodies. It promotes self-love and self-respect. It instills within them the importance of self-reflection, and it offers the opportunity to relax and just be. Time for one’s self is often not given value but it is crucial to healthy development.
